Dear Carrie Bradshaw

My post “Dear Carrie Bradshaw” is up on the BlogHer site today. Head over and take a look if you haven’t read it yet.

I read your post on the SATC movie. I enjoyed the first movie for all of the reasons you listed that we, as women, watch this genre. I loved the relationships, the social issues that women face, and of course, the shoes. I did not see SATC2 and I won’t. I, too, never understood why Carrie and Aiden never made it. As far as I am concerned, he was the true Gem. Mr. Big was sexy, elusive and the “un-gettable catch”, hence the allure. My first husband was “Mr. Big” and I am now, happily married to Aiden. Movies like SATC2 need to stop glamorizing the “abusive” tumultuous relationships and package them as what real passion is supposed to look like. But, I guess that’s why they call it fiction.

BTW, I LOVE the teacup in your about page. Just lovely.

Thanks, Ashley. Glad you figured it out in the end!
