Something wonderful

My favourite discovery of late is what happens when a spoonful of sugar lands in a mug of Rooibos Tea.

  1. Rosebud says:

So sugar comes from the earth and
Rooibos tea comes from ant colonies! Eugh!

  2. Kerry says:

Rosebud! Ye of the unbending elbows! You must be bored you cake-eating layabout. Pull out the hobbyhorse and give us a wink.

  3. Jennie says:

Does something exciting happen when you put sugar in it? Does it explode ala pop rocks and coke?

  4. Kerry says:

Well, it’s a taste explosion, which is sort of exciting. But no, not like pop rocks and coke.

  5. clazza says:

add milk too – that’s how the south africans drink it. it’s the perfect tea for dunking biscuits (ideally a ginger snap)

  6. The Chapatikid says:

I first started drinking Rooibos after reading Alexander McCall Smith’s “No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.” And I drink it just the way Mma Ramotswe does. Since you love tea so much, you should really get your hands on the specialty Matés in the tea shops around town. I bought a wonderful “Maté Chinois” at a tea shop on Bayview, all cocoa and sunflowers. I think it made me high.

  7. Kerry says:

Oh, sweet tea! Your possibilities are endless! Thanks for the tips everyone (and hello Claz). Incidently, No 1 Ladies Detective Agency is one of my least favourite books ever. I actually got it first out a cereal box, and have been given it as a gift three times since. I am glad Precious has good taste in tea though.

  8. Kerry says:

And if anyone tries pop rocks and rooibos, let me know how it works out.

  9. The Chapatikid says:

Hmm… I wonder why you hated No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency?
