Blurb
What a large chunk the workday eats into the day as a whole. I’d forgotten. I haven’t worked 9-5 in over two years. And all that while the world outside is shining with an early summer. I walked instead of rode my bike this morning, because it meant more fresh air. Also more exercise, which is probably for the best after eight hours spent sitting in chair. In good news, the Gap took back the evil angora in exchange for a store credit. Today I ate ice cream out of a truck. I just finished “Death and Life of Great American Cities” and am now starting on Kevin Chong’s Baroque a Nova to satisfy my fiction craving. So there. A novel written by a man out of my own free will. I’ll see how I like it.
Here on book blurbs, particularly those by by Dave Eggers. (Incidentally, Baroque A Nova is said to be “funny, haunting, moving, in equal measure” according to Mat Johnson, author of Drop). CBC Radio goes podcasting (ie you can listen to Metro Morning in the afternoon!). Hey everyone- they forgot us all in the Top 40 Under 40 (Damn you Craig Kielburger!! You’ve been making me look bad since you were eleven years old!). And poor Kaavya Viswanathan, who is no longer the top anything under anything.
What’s your new job?
