I did the same thing with blurbs for my novel Shelf Monkey. On the book, Paul Quarrington apparently writes, “I laughed, and thought – a great deal – reading Shelf Monkey” We took out a fair chunk. The original was, “I laughed myself sick that someone this untalented wanted me to provide a blurb, and thought – a great deal – that reading Shelf Monkey was a waste of time.”
But a little improvisation, and viola!
